Carrie's Shower, Cake Decorating

During April I took a cake decorating class at Michael's with my friends Carly and Amber. It was so much fun! Here is my first cake:

For the next class we practiced piping figures, shapes, etc. Here are some of the cupcakes we made with Michael and Autumn using my new tools.

For our last class we learned how to do the rose. I think mine turned out pretty good!

My good friend Carrie got married on May 1st. We went to the same high school and then became closer friends during our freshman year at BYU. Here's my absolute favorite picture of Carrie and me on top of a vent on BYU campus (at 2 a.m. no less):

Carrie originally lived in Heritage Halls freshman year. But then she decided to move over to Helaman for a change of scenery. She ended up a ward where I knew most of the guys, including Andrew Toolson. I met him through my friend Hilary, and here we are at a volleyball game:

Carrie and Andrew got to be good friends and started dating that spring. He left on his mission to Philadelphia that summer and they wrote on and off. When he got back last fall they started dating again and got married a few weeks ago! Don't you love it when two of your friends marry each other? Here we are at Carrie's bridal shower. (Alicia - one of Carrie's roommates from Heritage who actually lives in Independence, me, Carrie and Andrew).

The three of us are all married now!

We went to Carrie and Andrew's wedding reception last night and it was so fun to see them. They look so happy together (and also look so tan from their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!).
