Addie, growing up and driving

Lately Addie has been trying to understand the concept of growing up. The other day she said to me, "You was a baby once. And I was holding you." It's like she thinks we switched places. She has also said, "You was a baby and you were siting in my carseat. And I was driving." She really, really wants to drive. She likes to get on her little "motorcycle" (pictured below) and pretend to drive to the airport, park or grocery store.

She recently said, "When I get older, I get big. When I get big, I can drive!" I thought that was a pretty advanced chain of events for a two-year-old to come up with. And it must have sunk in because two days ago, I was telling her how a baby hat no longer fit because she grew. So she said, "I grew up? Can I drive now?"

Someday, Addie.
