My Favorite Things

Here are some recent discoveries that I absolutely love:

1. 24: Jack Bauer is invincible. Jimmy thinks he's going to be the Chuck Norris of the next generation. Here's one of my favorite stories about the show: Keifer Sutherland got a DUI last year and some lady called into a radio show and said "If anyone could handle drinking and driving, it's Jack Bauer!" We've gone through seasons one - three in a matter of weeks, but we're putting the rest on hold for now since Jimmy's back in school and taking the MCAT again in August.

2. Stephenie Meyer novels: I sped through Twilight and enjoyed New Moon and Eclipse. Right now I'm reading The Host and loving it. I can't wait for Breaking Dawn. We had a Twilight book club at my house two weeks ago. I made baked apples and Kendra fixed up some delicious moon-shaped sugar cookies. I can't wait for the New Moon discussion.

3. Wii Fit: I was a bit skeptical about this one. It's a $90 investment, but after hearing the Conleys and Phillippis rave about it, we gave in. It truly is a workout. I love being able to work out in my living room any time of day. It keeps track of your weight/BMI and helps you set goals. The aerobics step game is a bit like DDR and the yoga helps with posture and balance. You can even use the step while watching TV.

4. Wall-E. I can't say enough good things about this movie. We saw it as a matinee on opening day, and it was definitely worth it. I want to buy it as soon as it comes on DVD. It was a such a cute story. Who knew robots could tug at the heartstrings? There was humor throughout and even some social commentary. I'd say this is definitely one of Pixar's finest accomplishments.
