Bangs, Mom's Birthday, New Purses

If you hadn't noticed from Facebook, I got bangs! We always laugh in our family about that part in "Legally Blonde" when Elle's friend calls her up and says "Guess what! I got bangs!" So I finally had a reason to call my dad and say the line. Here's a picture of me with my nephew Konner on New Year's Day. He adores me (and the feeling is mutual).

My first project after graduation was to finish my wedding scrapbook. I laid out all the pictures and they covered 3/4 of the ping pong table. It was such a relief to finally have them all printed and in one book!

For my mom's birthday we went to this cute restaurant in downtown Kansas City. It used to be a school and had great food! My dad came in from Colorado for the weekend to celebrate.

I made a chocolate lava cake for my mom that was pretty good.

We went to Des Moines a few weeks ago for Jimmy's medical school interview. We just found out last week that he got accepted! We have decided to stay in Kansas City though, since we know the area and it's closer to family. Des Moines did have some great shopping! I got this cute red purse on clearance from Gap for only $4!

I have always wanted a real Coach purse. When I went to Seattle my senior year of high school I bought a knock-off on the street for $20. But now I am lucky enough to own a genuine Coach purse! My sister-in-law Johanna's boyfriend's mom loves to bargain hunt. She found a really cute brown purse for Johanna and picked up a few purses that she let me choose from. And the best part is that I didn't have to pay anything! Isn't it cute?
